Elite 5-Star 2024 CB Kobe Black Locks In Official Texas Visit For This Weekend

If Kobe Black commits, he would join Santana Wilson as the only cornerback pledges in the Texas Longhorns' 2024 recruiting class.

Kobe Black will be on the Forty Acres this weekend.

The five-star cornerback in the class of 2024 announced on Twitter Monday he would be taking an official visit to Texas Friday through Sunday. Black also changed his profile picture on Twitter to a photo of him in a Texas Longhorns jersey while holding up the "Hook 'em Horns!" hand gesture

Texas will be his third of four official visits, as he was at Oklahoma June 9 and Ohio State last Friday. He will take an official visit to Tuscaloosa, AL. Oct. 13 for the Crimson Tide's game at Bryant Denny Stadium against the Arkansas Razorbacks.

Black is the No. 23 player nationally, the No. 3 cornerback and the No. 6 player in the state of Texas in the class of 2024.

At Connally High School last season, Black played both cornerback and wide receiver.

On offense, he totaled 642 yards from scrimmage and 11 touchdowns, but those weren't his only scores of the year.

At cornerback, the Waco, TX. native made a house call on both passes he intercepted in 2022, while breaking up nine others and recording 36 tackles and two for loss.

Black also plays basketball and runs track and field, but the 6-0, 190-pounder was called a "fluid mover" with a "prototype corner size and excellent length" by 247Sports' Gabe Brooks.

"Displays high-level receiver-like body control and adjustment ability," Brooks wrote. "Knows how to high point and win throws in traffic."
