Texas football: Brennan Eagles looks like a breakout star

Texas coaches are experimenting with shifting returning starter Devin Duvernay over to to make room for budding talent Brennan Eagles

It's still in the experimental phase as of now, but Texas could very well be looking at moving returning starter Devin Duvernay over to the slot or "H" receiver position to make room for Brennan Eagles to play more.

We had some long personnel meetings offensively and Devin has had an unbelievable offseason - and so has Brennan," Texas coach Tom Herman said.

Herman went on to say that the younger slot receivers Jake Smith and Joshua Moore will have to step up to earn more snaps should Duvernay make the permanent move inside.

Duvernay would likely see his targets go up in the slot as he would be taking the place of Lil Jordan Humphrey, meanwhile Eagles looks like the heir appearant on the outside at 6-foot-4, 225 pounds with what some are saying is legit sub-4.4 speed. If he is truly ready to take the next step it would give Texas possibly the most physical pair of outside receivers in the conference, if not the nation.
