Ex Longhorns DL Malcom Brown Named New St. Dominic Savio Head Coach
After seven NFL seasons, Malcom Brown is turning in his cleats and helmet for a headset and whistle.
the former Texas Longhorns defensive tackle was recently named the next head coach at Austin's St. Dominic Savio Catholic High School. The school made the hiring official on Wednesday.

"I'm excited to be here and take this job and lead this group," Brown told reporters. "This team will work hard each day to be the best."
The final first-round pick of the 2015 NFL Draft, Brown would win two Super Bowls with the New England Patriots before inking a lucrative three-year, $15 million contract with the New Orleans Saints. He was traded to the Jacksonville Jaguars prior to the start of the 2021 season, where he'd sign a two-year, $11 million extension.
Brown was released before the start of the 2022 season and never played another down in the pros. In seven years, Brown recorded 304 tackles, 27 tackles for loss and 13.5 sacks.
A fixture of the Longhorns' defensive front in the early 2010s, the Brenham native played three seasons in Austin before declaring for the NFL draft. Brown was named a first-team All-Big 12 and consensus All-American in 2014. He also was nominated for the Outland Trophy, which is given to the best interior lineman, and was named a finalist for the Bronko Nagurski Trophy, given to the best defensive player in the country.
The Longhorns open the 2024 season as first-year members of the Southeastern Conference at Darrell K Royal Memorial Stadium on Aug. 31 against Colorado State.
