Texas Longhorns Football Is A Hot Commodity in 2026

In this story:
Steve Sarkisian's upcoming sixth season as the head coach of the Texas Longhorns should be a memorable one, especially with Arch Manning firmly secured as a starter, and the transfer portal bringing him tools like wide receiver Cam Coleman and linebacker Rasheem Biles.
Texas fans should be just as excited to see Manning and the rest of the Longhorns take the field as they look to make it back into the College Football Playoff after a narrow miss of the 12-team field last year.
But if you wish to witness the team's biggest games in person, we hope that you've done some stellar financial planning in order to afford the experience.
Texas' Most Notorious Games Yield Top 3 Most Expensive Average Ticket Prices in 2026

According to average prices on SeatGeek, the top three most expensive average ticket prices for college football are all games that include the Texas Longhorns.
The priciest is this year's Lone Star Showdown between Texas and the Texas A&M Aggies, taking place at Kyle Field where the Horns will look to repeat their statement 17-7 win they accrued against their rivals during the rivalry's revival back in 2024.
The average price for tickets? $1,056 as we speak.
A growing rivalry for the Longhorns takes over the number two spot, as prices for the Week 2 matchup in Austin at DKR against the Ohio State Buckeyes are selling at an average of $1,010 as Ryan Day's men make a trip to the Texas capital for the first time in 20 years.
Steve Sarkisian will look to finally best Day on the gridiron, as the Buckeyes have gotten the better of the Longhorns during their past two meetings.
Number three should also come as little surprise to anyone, as the famed Red River Rivalry between the Longhorns and the Oklahoma Sooners at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas has a median ticket price of $907 currently.
Since the two teams joined the SEC, Texas has had Oklahoma's number easily, as the Sooners have yet to even score a touchdown on the Burnt Orange in their two meetings as SEC schools, with the Longhorns outscoring them 57-9 thus far.
Three additional games featuring the Longhorns made the list as well, with Texas' trip to Knoxville to take on the Tennessee Volunteers selling tickets at $465, the fifth-most expensive.
The showdown between Nick Saban proteges when Lane Kiffin and the LSU Tigers visit Austin will likely cost fans around $395, number eight on the list, and coming in at 15 is another battle of college football blue bloods when the Georgia Bulldogs come to DKR.
Given that Texas was recently named the nation's most valuable college football program, this shouldn't be news to anyone, and don't expect that number to drop any this season either.
