Texas Longhorns To Host 2025 Five-Star WR Jaime Ffrench

The Texas Longhorns are squarely in the mix for the former Alabama wide receiver commit.

College football is still feeling the shockwaves from Alabama head coach Nick Saban retiring and for the umpteenth time this offseason it may help out Texas.

Texas was able to get Steve Sarkisian a contract extension, while also adding some talent. The Longhorns have already landed three Alabama transfers, two of which came on the offensive side of the ball in tight end Amari Niblack and the Crimson Tide's top weapon, Isaiah Bond. They now are reaping the rewards of Saban's retirement in the recruiting world as they are in the mix for 2025 five-star receiver Jaime Ffrench.

According to a report by Inside Texas' Joe Cook, the Longhorns will be hosting Ffrench for a visit on April 6. The Jacksonville, Florida product broke down to On3's Chad Simmons where he's at in his recruitment, which appears to be wide open following Saban's departure.

“I’m pretty much open right now,” said Ffrench. “I’m all ears for everybody that is showing love. I’ll probably remake my top 10 schools and just go from there. I also want to see where I fit best and where feels like home among those top schools.”

According to Cook, Texas has some major competition when it comes to attempting land Ffrench, with programs such as Georgia, Ohio State, Miami, Florida State, and Ole Miss all pursuing. It's no secret why these teams are after him either, as this past season he put up the ridiculous stat line of 62 catches for 1,247 yards and 14 touchdowns.

On3 currently ranks Ffrench as the No. 15 overall prospect, the No. 3 wide receiver, and the No. 2 prospect in Florida.
