Texas Tech Red Raiders Offensive Players to Watch vs. Texas Longhorns

The Texas Tech Red Raiders will most likely rely on their run game against the Texas Longhorns.

The Texas Tech Red Raiders will face most likely its biggest challenge against the No. 7 Texas Longhorns in their last regular season matchup at DKR Stadium in Austin.

However, the Red Raiders are coming off three consecutive wins and have reached bowl game eligibility.

Ever since Texas Tech quarterback Tyler Shough was lost to a broken leg and lost for the season vs. West Virginia, the Red Raider offense has relied most on their running game, most specifically, running back Tahj Brooks who has been the recent driving force of their offensive game plan.

Here are the players to watch on Texas Tech's offense on Saturday when Texas faces the Red Raiders.

WR Jerand Bradley

This season, Bradley is classified as a redshirt sophomore, and after a show-stopping and memorable freshman year, many eyesore turned his way on the field this season.

Last year, Bradley was the sixth freshman since 1972 to lead the Red Raiders in receiving yards (744). He also totaled six touchdowns and 14.6 yards per carry. The star receiver was recognized to the preseason All-Big 12 team earlier this past summer.

The season, however, Bradley has recorded 36 catches for a total of 431 yards. He is ranked No. 2 on the Red Raiders' offense in receiving yards behind receiver Xavier White who has recorded 470. On top of that, Bradley has added four touchdowns to his stats sheet this year.

RB Tahj Brooks

As a senior, Brooks has quite some experience being a go-to ball carrier for the Red Raiders. After former Texas Tech running back SaRodorick Thompson graduated, Brooks has been carrying the heavier weight this season. Last year, Brooks totaled 691 yards and seven touchdowns on 147 carries.

This year, however, Brooks had carried the ball 250 times for a total of 1,352 yards. Additionally, he has reached the end zone nine times and has an average of 5.4 yards per carry.

QB Behren Morton

After starting quarterback Shough went down with an injury, Morton stepped up to the plate. So far, he has recorded 136 completed passes off of 215 attempts while totaling 1,410 yards, 12 touchdowns, and four interceptions.

This will be the biggest stage Morton has faced in his career.
