Longhorns LB DeMarvion Overshown Has Met With Dallas Cowboys 'A Lot'

Former Texas Longhorns star linebacker DeMarvion Overshown has the interest of the Dallas Cowboys

Texas Longhorns linebacker DeMarvion Overshown grew up just outside of the DFW area in Arp, Texas, where the Dallas Cowboys are considered the hometown team.

And now, after a fantastic career in Austin, his journey may be close to coming full circle.

When speaking at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, Overshown revealed that, throughout the NFL Draft process, he has met with the Cowboys multiple times.

And he is very intrigued by what America's team has to offer.

“I’ve talked to the Cowboys a lot," Overshown said. "You know, Dan Quinn, I’ve seen him a lot around the Texas facility while I was there, so being able to chop it up with him here during formal interviews and then talking to them at the Reese’s Senior Bowl. That defense is amazing and being able to play along some of the other guys, it would be fun.”

Not only that, but Overshownn also revealed that one of the meetings with Dallas was a formal interview.

Which, in pre-draft proceedings, is a very important fact, because teams are only allotted a finite amount of formal interview opportunities, meaning that Dallas isn't just interested in Overshown.

It means they are very interested.

“[We had] great meetings," Overshown said. "We really just watched my film. They talked about how they loved my relentless effort and there is a lot that they can do with me in their system. It was a great overall formal interview with them.”

Overshown was arguably the Longhorns' best defender in 2022, finishing the year with 96 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, and four sacks.

And now he has a chance to head back home to play in the DFW, and the near-decade-long football journey back to where it all began.
