Timmy Allen Expected Back at 'Full Capacity' vs. Colgate

The Texas Longhorns were without Timmy Allen down the stretch of the Big 12 tournament, but the forward is expected back for Round 1 against Colgate

The Texas Longhorns are coming off a Big 12 Tournament Championship win vs. the Kansas Jayhawks over the weekend, which propelled them to a No. 2 seed in the upcoming March Madness event.

And one thing that made that title even more impressive, was the fact that they did a good portion of that work without one of their top players, Timmy Allen, who was out due to an injury.

However, following selection Sunday, Longhorns interim head coach Rodney Terry gave a promising update on Allen's status, noting that he should be back to 100 percent before the Round 1 matchup vs. Colgate.

“We feel like we’re gonna have Timmy back at full capacity for Thursday,” Terry said. “We will have him full-tilt and ready to go. His was the only significant injury that we had, knock on wood, throughout the course of the season.”

“This time of year you want everybody so we will be happy to have Timmy back in the fold. Looking forward to him having a really good tournament for us.”

Allen has been a key part of the Longhorns' success this season, averaging 10.5 points, 3.5 assists, and a team-high 5.5 rebounds per game.
