UCLA Football: Bill O'Brien Leaving Ohio State Opens the Door For Chip Kelly

Bill O'Brien is becoming Boston's new head coach, and this could lead to Chip Kelly leaving UCLA for Ohio State.

It has officially been announced that Bill O'Brien is leaving Ohio State to become the new head coach of Boston College. While this may not seem that wild right now, there are growing rumors that Chip Kelly might use this as an opportunity to leave the UCLA Bruins behind

Kelly has been shopping himself around multiple teams and has appeared as a coordinator favorite for college teams like Ohio State. Kelly would be taking a demotion to join the school's staff, but his offensive prowess would still be welcome.

What has been strange about all this is Kelly was retained by UCLA only to begin throwing himself into the conversation for NFL and collegiate positions. Kelly had interviewed with the Raiders and Seahawks and also was up for the OC position with the Commanders.

Kelly appears to be wanting out of coaching UCLA, and he could find himself coaching up Ohio State next season. Kelly has yet to land a job with any other team, but it has not stopped him from calling around.

It could be that there is something we don't know happening behind the scenes, and UCLA has soured on the idea of retaining Kelly.

Either way, expect to see Kelly potentially exciting as the head coach of the UCLA Bruins.
