Former UCLA Bruins shooting guard Johnny Juzang's current NBA club, the Utah Jazz, seems to value his upside as a pro prospect.

Per Keith Smith of Spotrac, Utah extended a two-way qualifying offer to the 6'7" swingman late last month, making him a restricted free agent.

Essentially, Juzang will stay with Utah on a two-way deal to kick off his second NBA season, unless a rival club bids for his services. In that scenario, the Jazz would still have the right to retain him, superseding said rival club, or let him move on to another opportunity.

Juzang helped power the club to a Sweet Sixteen appearance in 2022 before declaring for the NBA. He went undrafted that summer, but linked up with the Utah Jazz on a two-way contract.

Across 30 contests during his final NCAA season, he averaged 15.6 points on .432/.360/.835 shooting splits, 4.7 boards, and 1.8 assists.

On his two-way contract with Utah last season, he cameoed in 18 regular season games. During his inaugural NBA year, Juzang averaged 4.8 points on a .337/.238/.500 slash line and 2.2 rebounds. He put up far more impressive numbers with the Jazz's NBAGL affiliate, the Salt Lake City Stars. In 17 games (eight starts) with the Stars, he averaged 20.8 points on .429/.364/.907 shooting splits, 5.4 rebounds, and 3.3 assists.
