In this story:

The final piece to the 2023-2024 UCLA Bruins basketball squad could very well be the foreign phenom that is Aday Mara. When you think about the direction in which the game is going when players of all heights are able to handle the rock and run the offense at times, Mara completely fits that description and every game that he plays for Casademont Zaragoza, the more the basketball world becomes familiar with what he is able to do.

There are a number of complications and reasons as to why he has not officially committed to UCLA just yet. Mara continues to have contract issues with his current franchise and with former assistant coach Ivo Simovic having left for an NBA position, it's been rumored that that may have hurt the Bruins' opportunity.

And as Mara's highlights continue to hit the internet, his stock continues to rise. Take a look at some fan reactions on Twitter for yourself!

"Aday Mara has all the tools to be a defensive-anchoring center in the NBA. I mean look at that, the paint is all his. Combined with his passing, I think that he'll battle with Clingan throughout the whole season of who'll be the first center that's getting drafted."
"Wow, potential #UCLA recruit Aday Mara looks every bit of 7'3" in this highlight reel. The potential 2024 NBA Draft lottery pick is rumored to have picked the Bruins if he can reach an agreement to be freed from his contract with Casademont Zaragoza."

We really do hope that Mara eventually makes his way to Westwood for at least one season as his presence down low next to returning big man Adem Bona will take UCLA over the top!
