UCLA Bruins men's basketball head coach Mick Cronin is very particular when it comes to recruiting.

His style simply isn't for everyone. He's an intense guy who values the principles of defense and not turning the ball over. While his offenses at UCLA have been extremely potent/efficient, it's not always the run-and-gun transition game some players seek out.

Prioritizing gritty, high-character players has always been Cronin's calling card.

Based on the skill set of 2025 wing Hudson Greer, he checks all of the boxes Cronin would want in the ideal Bruin.

Greer -- a 6'7" wing from Lake Travis, Texas -- is reportedly scheduled to visit UCLA this upcoming Saturday. The Bruins have long been pursuing the talented wing. He collected an offer from UCLA last December.

There's a lot to like about his game. Greer can score from all levels -- whether that's gunning from behind the three-point line or attacking the rim off the bounce. His athleticism has consistently improved over the years, and he's far from a finished product -- possessing the frame with the ability to add good weight. Greer also plays with a tremendous motor. This is an element Cronin surely is intrigued by specifically.

Fortunately for the Bruins, Greer has ties to California -- and specifically Los Angeles. His dad played his college ball at St Mary's. He and his family as a whole are originally from the greater LA area. As such, there's tons of familiarity with UCLA and the basketball program.

It doesn't appear as if Greer will make his decision anytime soon. Reports indicate he's also considering the likes of Creighton, Iowa, Arizona, Texas, Alabama, and others.

In an interview with 247Sports reporter Dushawn London, Greer had this to say about UCLA:

"I'm from California so I know what I'm going to get geographically. Coming into this visit I'm looking to see what their practice looks like. I hear Mick Cronin is a tough coach and that's what I want in a head coach."
