UCLA Basketball: 2 New Bruins Starters Announced Vs Marquette

In this story:

UCLA Bruins head coach Mick Cronin is wasting no time when it comes to four-star freshman Berke Buyuktuncel, who's finally been ruled eligible to suit up by the NCAA after being held up for the Blue and Gold's first three games this year.

The 6'9" small forward has instantly been inserted into UCLA's starting five ahead of the club's impending matchup at the Maui Invitational (which has moved to Hawaii this year, in light of the recent wildfire devastation)

Ben Bolch of The Los Angeles Times reports that 6'2" guard Dylan Andrews, who was held out of LA's blowout of the Long Island Sharks last week by coach's decision, will now re-join the starting lineup as well.

The other three starters remain unchanged from the LIU game. 6'3" freshman guard Sebastian Mack, a four-star recruit from Henderson, Nevada, will join Andrews in the backcourt, junior transfer Lazar Stefanovic will play the three, and Pac-12 All-Defense sophomore Adem Bona will jump at center.

That means freshman center Aday Mara has been demoted to UCLA's bench, in something of a surprise given that Mara is seen as the player with the highest NBA ceiling. Sophomore guard Will McClendon has also been moved to a reserve role with Andrews back.

The game is set to tip off at 8:30 p.m. PT. Tune into the action on ESPN2.
