UCLA Basketball: Adem Bona Confident In Bruins' Struggling Youth Movement

In this story:
UCLA Bruins sophomore power forward Adem Bona, the reigning Pac-12 Freshman of the Year and a Pac-12 All-Defense Honoree last season, has been one of the few bright spots in UCLA's middling 5-4 season start. The club's eight new players (including seven freshman) are having trouble acclimating to the college game, and it's showing at the worst possible time: the ends of games.
Following the most recent such bout, a 67-60 loss to the Ohio State Buckeyes, Bona spoke constructively about how he hoped to remedy his team's obvious issues creating offense to close out hotly contested matches.
“We’ve just got to do the tough stuff," Bona said. "It doesn’t matter if we’re younger or older, we just got to get the job done. Work hard. Toughness. It doesn’t matter what age range we’re in, we just got to get the job done.”
Bona numbered among just three Bruins who managed to crack double digit scoring on the night. Across 25 minutes, he scored 12 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the field. The big man also pulled down six rebounds, swatted away one block and dished out one assist.
