UCLA Basketball: Columnist Feels This Incoming Bruins Guard Could Carry Heavy Load as a Freshman

In this story:
Your UCLA Bruins usually thrive whenever they have an experienced point guard on their roster to run the offense. Head coach Mick Cronin has made it very clear that he expects his leaders to carry a heavy load and that's why he's usually split on giving newcomers a big role off the jump. However, this year's squad will be looking to make noise in their final season as a part of the PAC-12 and after landing an elite recruit in Sebastian Mack, you wonder just how much he'll be leaned.
Mack has a lot going for him and standing at 6'4, he is around the average height of a collegiate point guard but looking at his ability when it comes to athleticism, he is able to attack the rim no matter how packed the paint is. UCLA doesn't love iso-ball and Mack has also shown the ability to move well off the ball and allow plays to run through other guys as well. Side note: I'm very excited to see how he runs the pick and roll and with Adem Bona.
And Buffaloes Wire experts believe he'll be next up at Westwood.
"With UCLA losing Jaimie Jaquez Jr., Jaylen Clark, Tyger Campbell and other impact players from last season, Mack could be asked to step up as an incoming freshman."

Mack is the type of guy you want to see taking on a nice role early on, especially in preseason games. UCLA's coaching staff will get a good feel for what he'll be able to contribute and ponder how much they'll be able to trust him in his first season.
