Your UCLA Bruins vanquished the Washington Huskies, 73-61, on Sunday to end their four-game losing streak.

Afterwards, the team's best player, center/power forward Adem Bona, spoke with gathered press (via UCLA Communications) about how UCLA was able to secure essentially a season-salvaging victory: improved communication on the hardwood.

To wit, UCLA finished with 20 passes overall, a huge uptick over Washington's six.

“I’ve been talking with our big coach, and we noticed I don’t call for the ball a lot during the game," Bona revealed. "I talk off the court, you know me, I’m always loud. So I tried today, to call for it every time I’m open, and I produced and helped the team a lot. That shows a lot what talking can do in a game. My conversation got better this game.”

Bona's 22 points on 10-of-13 shooting from the field and 2-of-4 shooting from the charity stripe paced the Blue and Gold. The 6'10" sophomore also grabbed one rebound and dished out one assist.

Two other Bruins, junior transfer wing Lazar Stefanovic (15 points on 4-of-7 shooting from the floor and 5-of-6 shooting from the foul line) and guard Sebastian Mack (10 points on 3-of-6 shooting from the field and 3-of-4 shooting from the free throw stripe) were UCLA's only other double digit scorers.
