When it comes to really determining the definition of a reliable basketball player, there are a number of factors that come into play. You could talk about holding teammates accountable, committing to play hard on both ends and possessing a high IQ on the court. However, there is just something that stand out about a player that is not scared of the big moment.

When the lights shine the brightest, will your number one option be able to perform and make the most important shot if needed? Not every team could say that but when Reggie Miller suited up for the UCLA Bruins, they definitely had the pleasure of doing so. He was able to help lead the university to a NIT championship along with a Pac-12 championship and had career averages of 17 points and four boards.

UCLA men's basketball social media recently ran a Twitter poll to see who fans thought was the most clutch player to step foot in Westwood. Miller beat out the likes of Don MacLean, Jason Kapono and Darren Collison.

Miller went on to have a very successful professional career in the NBA with the Indiana Pacers where he became known as one of the greatest shooters of all time, was named to the All-Star team five times and even got inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2012.

And even as he transitioned from UCLA to the NBA and faced more elite competition, he still never avoided any big plays. He certainly did not make all of them but opposing coaches always knew that if the game was on the line, you did not want the ball to end up in Miller's hands.
