UCLA Basketball: Standout Freshman Appreciates Team's Need To Win This Week

The Bruins are 14-15.

During remarks to the media on Tuesday, UCLA Bruins freshman guard Sebastian Mack explained how he and his team have been handling the adversity of a string of disappointing losses late into this season, per Tracy Pierson of Bruin Report Online. He also revealed the club's mentality in moving forward.

"Our main focus is competing, going out there as a team, as a unit," Mack said. "I feel like [there's] still more to be done. There's a lot to be done. We're still developing. That's a big key for us is just developing every day, working on getting better.... Right now the main focus is just working hard."

Later, Mack discussed how he adjusted to the physicality of playing ball at the college level.

"It was really a big learning curve to me. I had to watch film, reevaluate certain things, change my game a little bit," Mack said. "I feel like I'm developing as more of a complete player."

When asked about the Bruins' preparation for their impending game against the Arizona Wildcats tonight, Mack had a brief game plan.

"I'll probably just say maintain and play team D, just work as a unit on both ends of the floor," Mack allowed.
