UCLA Basketball: Standout Starter Considers Self "Work In Progress"

In this story:
A few days removed from an efficient 20-point performance in a 65-50 blowout victory over the loathed USC Trojans, UCLA Bruins sophomore starting guard Dylan Andrews gave himself a relatively harsh appraisal, despite having just been named the school's Student-Athlete of the Week for his performance.
He has been a huge part of UCLA's recent turnaround over the past few weeks. The club has gone 3-1 across its past four games, quite possibly salvaging its 2023-24 season while keeping its March Madness aspirations (barely) alive.
“I feel like it’s a work in progress, for sure, but my teammates are trusting in me, coaches are trusting in me, talking to me every day, showing me film. And I feel like I am getting, what I say, one percent better every day.”

During remarks to the press today, Andrews acknowledged that he had room to grow.
“I feel like it’s a work in progress, for sure, but my teammates are trusting in me, coaches are trusting in me, talking to me every day, showing me film," Andrews said. "And I feel like I am getting, what I say, one percent better every day.”
On the season, the Gardena native (who has started all 19 games he's played) is averaging 10.2 points on .358/.262/.788 shooting splits, 3.7 assists, 1.7 rebounds and 0.7 steals a night in 34.4 minutes.

Alex likes slam dunks, take him to the hoop. His favorite play is the alley-oop.
