UCLA Football: Chip Kelly Gets Honest About Colorado's Intense Carson Steele Coverage

On Saturday, your UCLA Bruins continued to course correct their season, following a shaky interlude during the brief Dante Moore Era. The 6-2 club under Ethan Garbers notched its second straight victory, besting the Colorado Buffaloes 28-16.
UCLA tight end Carson Steele enjoyed another solid night. Although he may not have recorded three touchdowns as he did against the Stanford Cardinal on the 21st, the 6'1", 225-pound junior did still notch one.
He also still chipped in 75 rushing yards of output on 11 carries (6.8 yards per), and 14 receiving yards.
According to Andrew Wagner of UCLA Communications, head coach Chip Kelly certainly seemed appreciative of Steele's contributions, but concerned about Cal's defense, as Kelly relayed during a postgame presser with gathered journalists.
“Yeah, football’s football," Kelly said. I mean, sometimes it’s not always your fault, and it’s a credit to the other side. And I thought that their safeties especially were really physical. They did a nice job. And you look at the first turnover, he cross-gripped, he had two hands on the ball, and they separated the ball from him. Fundamentally, he was doing what we teach him to do. But tip your cap to them. That was a heck of a play on their part.”
Can Steele keep the productivity flowing next week against Arizona? Time will tell.
