The Big Bang Theory Co-Creator Donates $25 Million to UCLA

The UCLA Bruins have received a pledge of $25 million to a program that will benefit low-income students and their pursuit of studying science and tech.

The massive donation was given to the school by famed TV producer Chuck Lorre. Lorre is most famous for his hit series, The Big Bang Theory. However, he also helped create Young Sheldon and Two and a Half Men.

The donation was made through Lorre's family foundation, which adds to a program he created back in 2015. This new pledge will increase the number of undergraduate scholarship recipients to 80 each year.

Lorre stated, "The lack of finances is something I understand extremely well."

Lorre understands what a lot of young people understand: college is not cheap. Thankfully, Lorre's generosity will now help low-income students with scholarship possibilities.

The new program for the school will create the UCLA Chuck Lorre Scholars Program. The students who benefit from this new program will receive four years of mentoring and other services, along with graduate school funding as well.
