UCLA Women's Basketball: 3 Bruins Made Preseason Top 50 List For John R. Wooden Award

In this story:
Your UCLA Bruins women’s basketball team had some big expectations this coming season, and they fully intend to make good on them. After reaching the Sweet Sixteen a year ago, UCLA brought in some extra talent to make their case for being one of the best teams in the country.
With these expectations comes pressure, and pressure brings out the best in certain players. The Bruins have a stacked team, and with all that talent comes potential greatness. The club is currently 3-0 on the young season.
Three members of the Bruins roster were named to the John R. Wooden Award Preseason Top-50 Watch List. Sophomore transfer Lauren Betts, sophomore Kiki Rice and graduate student Charisma Osborne were the three to be named.

The Bruins are one of four programs around the country that has three or more selections on the watch list, and it’s a great honor for them. All three are more than capable of winning the award, and they will be battling it out all year with other talented players across the nation.
UCLA likes their chances this season with all of the talent put together on their team. They wanted to get better at rebounding the basketball, which was a major weakness last season, so Betts will help in that area.
It’s not enough to just talk the talk, they want to make sure that they live up to the hype that has surrounded them. This Bruins team understands that nothing matters until it’s executed on the court, and they are trying to keep that mindset all season long.
