Your UCLA Bruins women’s basketball team is on the rise.

Off to a flawless 4-0 start thus far, the Bruins have now achieved their top ranking on an Associated Press poll in the program’s history.

UCLA will face its first major test of the season this afternoon, a 4:30 p.m. PT meeting with the 3-1 Connecticut Huskies, ranked as the No. 6 club in the land, during their first game of the Cayman Island Classic series.

Head coach Cori Close brought in 6'7" star center Lauren Betts, a transfer out of Stanford, to compliment four returning starters from a club that reached the 2022-23 NCAA Tournament's Sweet Sixteen.

Per Mike Regalado of Bruin Report Online, the club is powered by four scorers in double digits. Betts leads the pack with 19.5 points (on 78.6% shooting from the field), along with 10.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.3 blocks.

Three-time All-Pac-12 fifth-year redshirt senior guard Charisma Osborne, a 5'9" Moreno Valley native, is averaging 17.3 points on a .512/.538/.846 slash line. 5'11" sophomore forward Gabriela Jaquez, a Camarillo native, is averaging 16.8 points on .542/.357/.769 shooting splits, 6.8 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.3 steals.

5'4" sophomore guard Londynn Jones of Riverside, a Pac-12 All-Freshman honoree last year, is logging averages of 14 points on .370/.412/.800 shooting splits, 2.3 assists, two rebounds, and 0.8 steals per bout. 5'11" sophomore wing Kiki Rice, a 2023 All-Pac-12 Tourney inclusion, posted averages of 12.3 points on .471/.400/.929 shooting splits, 6.3 dimes, four rebounds, 1.8 steals and 0.5 blocks per bout.
