UCLA Women's Basketball: Charisma Osborne Status For Second Half Revealed

Will she return?

We have a status update for UCLA Bruins fifth-year senior All-Pac-12 shooting guard Charisma Osborne!

Osborne appeared to hit the floor, hard, with 51 seconds remaining in the contest's opening half. She exited the game for the team locker room with time to spare. Osborne had been the team's leading scorer in the first half with 10 points on 2-of-6 shooting from the floor and 4-of-5 shooting from the foul line.

The 5'9" upperclassman out of Moreno Valley, California, who easily could have declared for the WNBA draft instead of returning for her graduate student season (although, to be fair, the women's college game still has higher visibility than the pros, and she boasts a pretty deep NIL endorsement portfolio, according to Sportskeeda), helped power UCLA to a 23-13 second half advantage over USC, though the Trojans remained up at the break, 37-31.

On the year, Osborne is her team's second-leading scorer behind center Lauren Betts, at 14.2 points on a .419/.327/.889 slash line. She's also averaging 4.9 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 1.6 steals a night.

A team spokesperson has informed Luca Evans of The Orange County Register that a resilient Osborne is starting the second half, after all. She has apparently be medically cleared to play!
