The UCLA Bruins women's basketball team held on for dear life in their game against Princeton on Friday, narrowly winning by a score of 77-74. Graduate student Charisma Osborne was the difference maker in the game, finishing the night with 21 points.

But it was her fourth-quarter surge that helped the Bruins seal the victory. She scored 13 of the 21 points in the final quarter, and it was an impressive showing for the guard.

"Charisma Osborne doesn’t have to be UCLA’s leading scorer anymore, but the fifth-year guard proved Friday she was still the Bruins’ go-to star."

Per Thuc Nhi Nguyen of The Los Angeles Times

Charisma was humble after the game despite the performance and credited her teammates for helping get the win. The Bruins are one of the more stacked teams in college basketball, and she understands that she doesn't have to do it all.

“Sometimes it might not be me,” said Osborne, who led the Bruins in scoring for the last two seasons, “and today it just happened to be me.”

It was the type of game that the Bruins likely never expected to be in but one that could prove to be worthwhile down the stretch of the season. If they can prove that they can overcome adversity this season, it will help them in the long run in their quest to win the National Championship.

The Bruins can learn from this game, and make sure that they don't take opponents for granted again. It could be used as a wake-up call for them, and they are now on alert that they could be upset in any given matchup.
