In this story:
Your UCLA Bruins women's basketball team has now gone 11-0 to kick ofd the 2023-24 season in explosive fashion, and has put the national college hoops world on notice.
The Associated Press, that much-ballyhooed barometer of success across the country, has once again ranked the Blue and Gold as second-best club in the land, behind only the 11-0 South Carolina Gamecocks.
Cori Close’s club has been propelled to the next level by both internal growth to several returning pieces (especially point guard Kiki Rice) and the explosive two-way ability of standout sophomore transfer Lauren Betts, a 6’7” center out of Stanford.
Next up for UCLA is a matchup against another undefeated Pac-12 California program that's about to join the Big Ten: the Bruins' crosstown rival USC, fronted by prolific freshman wing JuJu Watkins and star center Rayah Marshall. That bout is slated to tip off on Saturday, December 30th, at 5 p.m. PT.
