UCLA Women's Basketball: Washington Coach Details How Bruins Beat Her Team

In this story:
In front of 3,563 Pauley Pavilion faithful, your UCLA Bruins submitted a surprisingly poor-shooting 62-44 blowout home victory over the Washington Huskies on Friday night.
Head coach Tina Langley reflected after the game on what her club did well -- and, more to the point, what UCLA did better, as Jill Painter Lopez of The Associated Press/The Los Angeles Times details.
“We were able to hold them to their lowest field-goal percentage all season, and I thought we defended well,” Langley said. “And I thought their defense was really good as well and they were able to turn us over and create some baskets.
“We’ve got to continue to learn to take care of the basketball. They’re a great team, incredibly well coached. Really talented. They’re the No. 2 team in the country for a reason. I like how we battled for most of the game.”
Guards Charisma Osborne (17 points on an inefficient 4-of-13 shooting from the floor and 3-of-3 shooting from the charity stripe) and Londynn Jones (13 on 6-of-13 shooting from the floor and 2-of-2 shooting from the foul line) led the way for the Bruins in the win.
UCLA submitted its worst field goal conversion rate of any half with 20.5% (8-of-39 shooting) on Friday night. The Huskies connected on a better-but-still-terrible 30%. The Bruins improved significantly in the bout's second half, nailing 41% from the floor. UCLA finished at a paltry 23-of-75 (30.7%) shooting mark for the night.
