UCLA Women's Basketball: Where Undefeated Bruins Rank In Latest AP Poll

Your undefeated (11-0) UCLA Bruins women's basketball team just can't get past the even more highly-touted South Carolina Gamecocks, as the program once again remains static in second place for this week's Associated Press poll.

Cori Close's squad has been absolutely revitalized by the advent of sophomore transfer Lauren Betts, a 6'7" transfer out of Stanford who can't miss a shot in the paint. On the year, she's connecting on 77.1% of her field goal tries, the most efficient conversion rate in the nation. She's also averaging a team-best 16.9 points (85th-best in the country, still pretty solid in this egalitarian offense), 9.2 rebounds (good for 44th-best in the country), two blocks and 0.8 assists.

Out of 360 programs, the club ranks third in offensive rating (121.2), fourth in SRS (37.01) and seventh in points scored per game (90.5)

UCLA's well-distributed offense boasts five players logging 13 or more points: Betts, three-time All-Pac-12 redshirt senior guard Charisma Osborne (14.5 points on .439/.456/.879 shooting splits, along with 5.5 boards and 4.5 assists), sophomore forward Gabriela Jaquez, sister to now-Heat rookie Jaime (13.5 points on 53.6% shooting from the field, along with 6.6 rebounds and two dimes), sophomore guard Kiki Rice (13.5 points on a .544/.321/.903 slash line, 6.5 dishes and 5.6 rebounds), and sophomore point guard Londynn Jones (13.4 points on .380/.383/.800 shooting, 2.3 assists and 1.9 boards).

The Bruins will take their unblemished non-conference record into a Saturday matchup against one of the Pac-12's only other lossless clubs, the 10-0 USC Trojans.
