Former 10-year USC Trojans assistant head coach Chris Capko is moving on from his tenure with the Cardinal and Gold, too, after 11-year head coach Andy Enfield jumped ship to lead the SMU Mustangs.

Capko posted the following missive to the USC faithful, via his personal X account:

"My 10 years of service at USC have been the best of my coaching career thus far," Capko writes. "The success we had at USC over the past 10 years wouldn't have been possible without the dedication and commitment from our coaches, administrators, support staff, players and fans. From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU all for an incredible experience. USC will always [have a] special place in mine and my family's hearts. FIGHT ON! Cap."

Luca Evans of The Orange County Register sees Capko as a solid recruiter and strong motivational voice, and believes he's due a head coaching gig at some point soon.

During his 10 seasons with the Trojans, the team went 209-126, making five NCAA Tournament berths, including an Elite Eight finish with the Evan Mobley-era 2021 squad.

USC had a pretty miserable 15-18 run in 2023-24, despite fielding one of the best-regarded recruiting classes in the nation heading into the year. Capko's next destination is unclear. Perhaps a head coaching opportunity is headed his way sooner rather than later...
