USC Basketball: Bill Simmons Slams Analysts For Ranking Trojans 2024 Prospect Too Low

The longtime sports podcaster is unhappy with how low USC's top 2024 commit ranks in the latest Top 100 list.

An unexpected sportswriter and podcaster comes to the defense of USC's top 2024 commit, Trent Perry

Podcaster Bill Smminos expressed his unhappiness with how low ESPN has USC's top 2024 commit. Simmons shared via X.

Trent Perry not cracking the top-25 of any top-100 prospect list shows how stupid and political and useless those lists are. He’s one of the best LA high school players since I’ve lived here. Leads, produces and wins. (Going to USC by the way.)

According to ESPN's latest top 100 recruits rankings, Perry is the 26th-best player in his class.

The four-star recruit hails from Studio City, California, and attends Harvard Westlake. According to 247Sports, he is the number five point guard in his class and the number seven player in California. The senior point guard signed his letter of intent in November 2023.

USC has itself a good one. He is listed at 6-foot-4, 175 pounds. Perry is coming off a huge game where he dropped 42 points, including 29 in the second half, to propel his team to the semifinals in a win over Carlsbad, 73-72.

The senior point guard also had seven rounds and five assists in the game. Perry has a well-rounded skillset, is a smooth shooter, and is a capable ball handler. The Trojans keep adding to the elite guards they've added over the years, and Perry is the latest on the list. Simmons is a big fan, and soon, so will USC faithful.
