USC defensive lineman Bear Alexander is here to stay.

After reporters and major publications confirmed Alexander would enter this year's NCAA transfer portal, Alexander went out of his way to confirm those reports weren't true and that he would be staying in Southern California.

Alexander let Hayes Fawcett of On3 know that he is staying in Cardinal and Gold.

"I'm not crystal clear on all of the noise or what any of this portal mess is about," Alexander said Wednesday, via X. "I'm here to finish what I started and that's chasing a natty here at USC with my teammates."

Fans on X reacted the only way they know how about Alexander staying at USC.

Some good, some bad, but hey, that's Twitter for you.

According to Fawcett, the USC coaching staff and Alexander had a conversation after the reports of his plans and entering the transfer portal were released to the public. Since then, he's backed off on those plans.

In his 2023 seasons at USC, he recorded 48 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, and four passes defended in 13 games. He played a much more significant role than his freshman season at Georgia. Although it wasn't pretty in Southern California in 2023, they'll look for a significant turnaround in 2024 with a new regime on defense.

Alexander is back and will look to wreak havoc in 2024 and show USC is back on the map.
