USC football: Lincoln Riley relationship is big factor in recruitment of 4-star cornerback

Selman Bridges is rated as the No. 6 cornerback in the 2024 class

Class of 2024 four-star cornerback Selman Bridges hasn't scheduled a USC official visit yet, but he's still very high on the Trojans.

Coming off of his official visit to TCU, 247Sports.com's Mike Roach asked Bridges about his other contenders and what stands out about them. The cornerback said of USC:

"Coach Riley. He has a relationship with my parents. That's the biggest part. Who are my parents giving me away to? That's where I'm going to spend the next three years, so that piece is important."

Bridges attends Lake Belton High School in Temple, Texas. He's rated as the No. 6 cornerback in the 2024 class, per 247Sports.com. Overall, he's the No. 48 recruit nationally.

Last month, 247Sports.com's National Recruiting Director Steve Wiltfong answered questions on YouTube and had this to say about Bridges' recruitment:

"The school that I'm watching closely for Bridges right now is USC. I think he loves coach Donte Williams. He took a visit there in the spring. He enjoyed it and I see him coming back for a game in the fall. After that, I see him returning for an official visit in November or December. He's going to decide late, so that sets up for USC to get multiple visits from him leading up to that decision. I think the Trojans are in an interesting position for him as they battle Texas and Arkansas among others."
