Virginia extended a scholarship offer to a new prospect from the class of 2024 on Monday as sharpshooter Ishan Sharma announced on social media that he received an offer following an official visit to UVA this weekend.

A bit of a late bloomer in the class of 2024, Sharma caught the attention of Tony Bennett and his staff with his lights-out shooting at the Nike EYBL Peach Jam this summer. Sharma is a 6'5" shooting guard who is about to begin his senior year at Fort Erie International Academy in Fort Erie, Ontario. He also has international experience, having represented Canada in FIBA tournaments.

In addition to Virginia, just a few other major conference programs have targeted Sharma, including Seton Hall, Virginia Tech, and Arizona State. Sharma also reported receiving offers from Maine, Northern Illinois, Indiana State, Sam Houston, Rice, Yale, Harvard, Eastern Michigan, and Wyoming. Sharma's recent official visit to Virginia came on the heels of an official visit to Rice last week and he also visited Yale in September.

Virginia's recruiting efforts in the class of 2024 have taken some interesting turns. UVA's first verbal commit came from four-star Christian Bliss, who then reclassified to the class of 2023 and is now at Virginia and will redshirt this season. Four-star forward Jacob Cofie then became UVA's next "first" verbal commit in the 2024 recruiting class in mid-September. It seems Tony Bennett and company are looking to bring in at least one more recruit from this class and the sharpshooter Ishan Sharma just might be that player.
