Tony Bennett and the Cavaliers have extended just their third reported offer in the recruiting class of 2025, as four-star guard Derek Dixon (Washington, D.C.) reported receiving an offer from Virginia on Wednesday afternoon.

A 6'4" combo guard out of Gonzaga College High School in D.C., Dixon is a consensus four-star prospect and top 100 overall recruit in the class of 2025 across each of the major recruiting sites. 247Sports has Dixon rated as the No. 92 overall player in the country, the No. 12 combo guard in the class of 2025, and the No. 2 recruit from Washington, D.C.

Virginia enters the mix along with a number of major conference programs in the hunt for Dixon, who has also received offers from Villanova, Xavier, Maryland, Pittsburgh, Kansas State, Syracuse, Virginia Tech, Penn State, Providence, and others.

There are a number of things to like about Dixon's game and there is high potential for him to develop into a very capable playmaking point guard, but his best attribute right now is his three-point shooting, as evidenced in the video below in which Dixon knocks down six three-pointers in one game:

This is just third reported offer Virginia has made to a recruit in the class of 2025. In addition to Derek Dixon, UVA has offered five-star power forward Bryson Tiller (Atlanta, GA) and four-star point guard Chance Mallory out of St. Anne's-Belfield in Charlottesville.
