Top of the 8th

After putting up runs for two consecutive frames, the Hokies failed to chip into a three run deficit in the eighth. They went down in order.

Bottom of the 7th

Working around a lead-off walk, Aiden Robertson pitches another scoreless frame. He's through 2.1 scoreless innings with four strikeouts today.

Top of the 7th

For the second time this game, the Hokies load the bases with nobody out, but escape with just one run. They were able to chip into the deficit with a sacrifice fly from Hudson Lutterman. Ethan Gibson grounded out to end the frame.

Bottom of the 6th

With Aiden Robertson on the mound, the Hokies work around a one-out single to get out of a scoreless inning.

Top of the 6th

Virginia Tech chipped away at the ETSU lead off the bat of Ethan Gibson, who doubled to bring in Sam Gates from second. Virginia Tech was able to load the bases with a HBP and a walk, but couldn't add any more runs.

Bottom of the 5th

On a pair of home runs — including a three run shot from Tristan Curless — ETSU put up four runs on two hits and two walks.

Anderson French, Sam Grube and Pete Daniel all go down in order in the road half of the fifth inning.

Jacob Exum works around a lead-off single to put together a scoreless inning on the mound. He struck out Andrew Palmer and Matt Evans to end the inning.

Hudson Lutterman and Willie Hurt both single, but Lutterman was thrown out at third on Hurt's single. Owen Petrich and Ethan Gibson were unable to reach base, which counted for all three outs in the scoreless inning.

Bottom of the 3rd

On a pair of walks and a pair of hits — including a two-rbi double from Henry Ferguson — ETSU was able to claim its first lead of the game, 3-2.

Top of the 3rd

Petrich, French and Grube all walk to load the bases with no outs, but the Hokies scratch across just one run on a fielder's choice RBI from Nick Locurto. Pete Daniel and Sam Gates both struck out to end the inning.

Bottom of the 2nd

VT walks one batter, but allows no hits or runs. Hokies lead 1-0 heading to the 3rd

Top of the 2nd

With a HBP and a single, Virginia Tech puts runners on the corners with two outs. They then opted to execute a double steal attempt and it worked to successfully score Hudson Lutterman from third, giving Virginia Tech a 1-0 lead.

Bottom of the 1st

Lazaro got the start for Virginia Tech and allowed ETSU's first two batters to reach base. He then induced a pop up and then a line-drive double play to get out of the two-on, no-out jam.
