WVU's Victor Scott Collects His First Two Major League Hits

In this story:
Former West Virginia outfielder Victor Scott II made the St. Louis Cardinals' Opening Day roster due to the injury of Dylan Carlson. Scott had a productive spring and put himself in a position to make the roster even had Carlson not landed on the injured list. Carlson's absence not only opened up a roster spot, but a place in the starting lineup which Scott was awarded.
After going 0 for his first 11 at-bats, Scott finally picked up his first major league career hit off of Los Angeles' Gavin Stone in the third inning of Sunday's game in the exact fashion you would expect it to come by - an infield hit.

Scott's speed is what makes him such an intriguing prospect, but his ability to drive the ball is what has folks in the Cardinals organization so excited. Two innings later, he smacked an outside pitch to the left centerfield gap for an easy standup double.
