Jerry West is Headed to the Hall of Fame...Again

"The logo" is set to enter the Hall of Fame for a third time.

Mountaineer and NBA legend Jerry West is headed to the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame... again. On Wednesday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reported that West would be enshrined into the Hall as a contributor to the game, honoring his work as the GM of the Los Angeles Lakers and Memphis Grizzlies and as a consultant for the Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Clippers.

The Cheylan, West Virginia native becomes the first-ever person to be enshrined into the basketball Hall of Fame three times. He was previously inducted as a player in 1979 and then as a member of the 1960 U.S. Olympic team in 2010.

West pulled off one of the biggest trades in NBA history, trading Vlade Divac to the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for Kobe Bryant. He would go on to be one of the greatest players to ever play the game, leading the Lakers to five NBA championships in his 20-year career.

After his stint with the Lakers, West became the GM of the Memphis Grizzlies and helped them to their first-ever playoff appearance. In 2011, he moved into a consulting role with the Golden State Warriors and played a big part in constructing the roster that won the 2015 and 2017 NBA championships. He would then move into the same role with the Los Angeles Clippers following the 2017 season where he helped form a dynamic duo in Kawhi Leonard and Paul George.

West was named the NBA's Executive of the Year in 1995 and 2004 and has won eight NBA titles during his career as an executive.
