WVU RB Leddie Brown to Return for 2021 Season

The Mountaineers get some good news Wednesday evening.

The West Virginia Mountaineers' 2021 expectations just got a little higher as junior running back Leddie Brown announced on Twitter that he will be returning to the program for his senior season.

For the first two years of Brown's career, he split time with a variety of other backs and never had the chance to showcase what he could do as an every-down back. You could see that the potential was there but he did not get the opportunity until this past fall and he flourished, to say the least.

Brown finished No. 2 in the Big 12 Conference in rushing yards and had the 14th most yards in the country (1,010). He toted the rock 199 times for nine touchdowns while averaging 5.1 yards per carry. In five of West Virginia's 10 games, Brown ran for over 100 yards and had three games where he had two rushing touchdowns. Not only did Brown prove that he is capable of being an every-down back but he proved that he can handle a heavy workload and still play at a high level late in games.
