Electric 2027 RB Lee Prince Jr. Shuts Down Recruitment, Picks WVU

WVU adds a dynamic playmaker in the 2027 recruiting class.
Lee Prince Jr.

For the second time in as many days, the West Virginia Mountaineers have added to their 2027 recruiting class, securing a commitment from Hollywood, Florida running back Lee Prince Jr. (5'10", 175 lbs) from Miami Carol City High School.

Prince Jr. picked West Virginia over offers from Boston College, Florida State, Oregon, Pitt, Purdue, SMU, UCF, UNLV, and several others.

The announcement on Instagram

"After thoughtful discussions with my family, I’m blessed to announce that I have officially committed to West Virginia University! I want to sincerely thank head Coach Rich Rodriguez, Travis Trickett,Jay Boulware, and Noel Devine and the team for the genuine hospitality and for believing in me. Your support and vision made this decision clear. From Carol City to the mountains… I’m ready to WORK, ready to stand on business, and ready to represent at the highest level. Mountaineer Nation… the lion is on the way! Let’s get it!!"

This past season as a junior, Lee rushed for 765 yards and nine touchdowns on 63 carries.

The scouting report on Prince Jr.

Speed, speed, speed, and more speed. Rich Rod landed some shifty backs in the 2026 recruiting class, like Chris Talley and SirPaul Cheeks, but Prince may have a leg up on them as far as speed is concerned. He's a homerun threat on any given play and can hit top speed in a hurry. While he's primarily someone who likes to bounce it out wide to the perimeter because of his speed, he doesn't mind hammering it in between the tackles and lowering his shoulder. Depending on how the 2026 class of backs pans out, there's a chance Prince could find his way into the rotation as a true freshman, and if not, by his second year in the system. The staff truly believes in his potential and could be an All-Big 12 caliber player down the road.
