Chris Harris Jr. Names Two Pro Bowl DL Free Agents Broncos Should Target

Chris Harris Jr. believes the Broncos' DL is weak, and two Pro Bowl DLs would immediately bolster the unit.

Most NFL teams that make it far in the playoffs usually have a well-rounded defense. One element of a well-rounded defense is the ability to stop the run. The Denver Broncos did not possess that defensive trait.

The Broncos were third-worst in the league in stopping the rush, giving up an average of 137.1 YPG. Chris Harris Jr. discussed the team's issues on the DL on Let's Ride, and which players the team should swing big for in free agency.

And what's the Broncos' biggest weakness? We could not stop the run. I think the Broncos have to make some choices. You know, they have B.J. Jones, which is a $10 million cap space, which I probably think they cut him. And probably if I'm them, I would cut him and try to go get a Christian Wilkins you know, from the Dolphins. Somebody that can be an impact player, you know, because you got to have somebody like a Chris Jones or like a Leonard Williams, somebody."

Harris is right when he said adding someone like Christian Wilkins or Chris Jones would be huge. Wilkins ended the 2023 season with 9 sacks as a DT. Jones ended the season with 10.5 sacks.

The Dolphins could still franchise tag Wilkins, and the same with Jones and the Chiefs—but it wouldn't hurt for the Broncos to land either one of them.

Both Wilkins and Jones are Pro Bowl DT, and Jones is a Super Bowl champion. Jones might be a cap room casualty for the Chiefs, leaving the door open for the Broncos to swoop in and land this big free agent.
