For most of the 2024 recruiting cycle, Clemson has hovered somewhere under the top 10 classes nationally but after the commitment of two high-profile recruits who rank in among the 10 best at their respective positions, Dabo Swinney and the Tigers have enjoyed a huge jump in the college football recruiting rankings this offseason.

Over a two-day period, Clemson received the pledge of Sammy Brown, the No. 1 ranked linebacker in the 2024 recruiting class out of Georgia, and Bryant Wesco, a consensus top-10 ranked wide receiver from the state of Texas, a pair of additions that seriously enhanced the reputation of a school that has won two College Football Playoff national championships but hasn't seen the semifinal since 2020.

As a result of those commitments, Clemson moved definitively into the top 10 of the College Football HQ Recruiting Rankings, sliding into the No. 7 position nationally, ahead of fellow ACC contender Florida State and behind Pac-12 leader Oregon.

Other recruiting services also moved Clemson up in their 2024 team rankings, as 247Sports placed it at No. 8 nationally with an average player rating of 91.60 and scoring 203.34 total points. For context, No. 1 ranked Georgia has a player average of 94.19 and 278.85 points.

On3 Sports ranked Clemson at No. 4 nationally after the commitments of Brown and Wesco, and Rivals placed the Tigers at No. 8 nationally with 1,365 points, compared to leader Georgia (2,340 points).
