Coach K appears to hit back at Nick Saban's NIL comments

The former Duke coach comments on NIL in a way that sounds like a rebuttal to what Nick Saban said about the practice in college football

Nick Saban has said that he didn't retire from college football specifically because of the new NIL practices in the sport, or because of the transfer portal, but those things did appear to play some kind of role in his decision to walk away for good.

But former Duke basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski would prefer that coaches not complain about the current situation and just adapt to the new environment.

"I didn't retire because of the new environment in college sports. It would've been exciting to try to adapt to that. You have to keep adapting. This is the biggest adaptation, I think, in the history of college athletics," Coach K said on The Dan Patrick Show.

"It's not been coordinated," he said. "You don't even know who to call into a meeting to discuss what needs to be discussed. This has been three years now."

Coach K added: "Instead of complaining about what it is, just accept the fact that this is a new time. Just because it isn't like the old, doesn't mean it's not play. This is what it is, and we should figure out how to do what it is in the best interest of everyone."
