Oregon Football Makes Decision on Player Who Was Arrested

Oregon football coach Dan Lanning didn't need long to make a final decision after wide receiver Traeshon Holden was arrested this week.
Lanning said in a statement that Holden is no longer with the program.
"We are aware of the incident involving Traeshon Holden, and he has been dismissed from our team," Lanning said.
The wide receiver and one-time Alabama transfer is facing charges of menacing, unlawful use of a weapon, and coercion, according to Lane Co. (Ore.) court records.

"We have high standards for the student-athletes, coaches, and staff in our football program, and we are disappointed when these standards are not met," Lanning added.
"We will continue to hold everyone in our program accountable for meeting our expectations."
Holden originally committed to Oregon back in December after making a decision to transfer away from Alabama.
He spent three seasons with the Crimson Tide with the bulk of his production coming in the last two years.
Holden finished with 46 catches for 570 yards and seven touchdowns in his career at Alabama, with six of his touchdowns coming last season.
The receiver was projected as a likely starter for Oregon before these issues emerged.
