Ranked as the No. 1 quarterback recruit in the class of 2027, five-star signal caller Elijah Haven has some of the biggest programs in college football after him.

However, on Tuesday, it was confirmed that there is one program that seems to be in the lead for the talented gunslinger in the Alabama Crimson Tide.

The Baton Rouge native has accumulated around 20 offers after a junior season that saw him explode at a historical clip. The Dunham product was named both Gatorade and MaxPreps Player of the Year in Louisiana, after leading his team to a 13-1 record and a Division III Select state title

In addition to the championship, Haven broke state records in touchdown passes with 62 and also set a record for total touchdowns with 73. The five-star recruit tossed for 3,931 yards while completing 72.4% of his passes.

Elijah Haven predicted to end up at Alabama

Despite Alabama seeing a change at quarterback coach with Nick Sheridan making the move to Michigan State, On3's Sam Spiegelman revealed that Alabama is still the frontrunner.

"Alabama is trending on the Rivals RPM and hosted the No. 1 passer in America in January after Bryan Ellis replaced Nick Sheridan as the Crimson Tide’s QB coach," wrote Spiegelman.

Haven himself also touched on how important it was for him to meet with coach Ellis following the change, and still seems to be quite confident in the direction of the program at Alabama.

“My family and I think so highly of the program,” Haven told On3. “With coach Sheridan getting the opportunity at Michigan State, it was important for us to get back and get the vibe for the program. Honestly, I feel like they didn’t miss a beat. I met Coach Ellis and he’s a great guy and a great coach … Super excited to get back up there. They definitely have a high standing in mine and my family’s hearts.”

Spiegelman did confirm that Haven is expected to visit Georgia, Kentucky, and Auburn, but multiple insiders have come forward with Alabama predictions for the top-ranked quarterback.

In total, there are four predictions from On3 recruiting insiders that have Haven slated to end up in Tuscaloosa, with the most recent coming today. Of note, the site's Vice President of Recruiting and Transfer Portal, Steve Wiltfong, projected that Haven would end up at Alabama back in October.

While Alabama is no stranger to blue-chip recruits, DeBoer has been adding elite quarterbacks one after another. In fact, redshirt freshman Keelon Russell was the highest-ranked recruit in program history, and the Tide already holds a commitment from 2027 recruit Trent Seaborn.

Needless to say, Alabama will not have a shortage of talent at the sport's most important position.
