The 2027 college football recruiting cycle has ramped up in the first three months of the 2026 offseason.

A sizable number of prospects in the 2027 cycle have already announced their college commitments. The rest are paring down their lists of schools and taking spring and summer visits to the schools that interest them most.

One of the top uncommitted prospects in the class is four-star offensive tackle Jake Hildebrand. The 6-foot-5, 285-pounder from Basha High School in Chandler, Arizona, ranks as the No. 9 offensive tackle, No. 2 player in Arizona and No. 94 overall prospect in the class of 2027, per Rivals.

Hildebrand was the key cog in Basha's victory in the AIA Open Division State Championship game in 2025. He later participated in the 2026 Navy All-American Bowl in January.

247Sports scouting analyst Gabe Brooks called Hildebrand "a 'gets the job done' type of offensive tackle who could possibly provide flexibility to guard" and said that he "plays with adequate lateral range aided by the orbit created by plus frame length" in a scouting report he wrote in March.

Hildebrand made an important step in his recruitment on Wednesday. Brandon Huffman of Rivals reported that Hildebrand had narrowed down his list of options to four schools.

Oregon

Hildebrand has visited Oregon in June each of the past three years. The Ducks offered him a scholarship in June of 2024, shortly before his visited to Oregon that year.

Oregon did not sign an offensive tackle in the class of 2026 despite signing numerous high-profile offensive line prospects. The Ducks currently hold a commitment from three-star offensive tackle Avery Michael in the class of 2027.

Texas A&M

The Aggies were the second program to offer Hildebrand a scholarship while he visited them in April of 2024. He has visited Texas A&M four times, most recently for the Aggies' game against Mississippi State in October of 2025.

Three-star freshman Avery Morcho and LSU transfer Tyree Adams are the new offensive tackle additions to Texas A&M's 2026 roster. The Aggies already have two four-star offensive tackle commits in the class of 2027: Kaeden Scott and DeMarrion Johnson.

Arizona State

The Sun Devils are determined to keep one of the best prospects in their backyard within state borders. Hildebrand has already made five visits to Arizona State in his recruitment and has an official visit scheduled for the second weekend of June.

Arizona State signed three offensive tackles in the 2026 recruiting cycle, including a pair of four-stars in Cortavious Tisaby and junior college transfer Jermaine Mitchell. The Sun Devils also added Oklahoma transfer Luke Baklenko to their roster.

Utah

The Utes were the third Power Four program to offer Hildebrand a scholarship back in May of 2024, an offer made while Kyle Whittingham was still their head coach. Hildebrand has an official visit scheduled to Utah shortly after his official visit to Arizona State.

Utah signed a pair of four-star offensive tackles in the 2026 recruiting cycle: Kelvin Obot and Mataalii Benjamin. Montana State transfer Cedric Jefferson is the Utes' other addition at offensive tackle.
