St. Louis Cardinals Legend Sets New Team Record in Milestone Victory

In this story:
It hasn't been the season he wanted, but on Monday, St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Adam Wainwright was rewarded for his efforts.
The veteran righty went 7.0 shutout innings against the National League Central-leading Milwaukee Brewers. He allowed just four hits and two walks while striking out three.
The win brought about multiple milestones for Wainwright, who became the fifth active pitcher to record 200 career wins. He also set a new, specific record in team history.
Per Sarah Langs of MLB.com:
oldest Cardinals pitchers with scoreless outing of 7+ IP:
Today Adam Wainwright: 42 y, 19 d

Wainwright is just 5-11 this season with a 7.40 ERA. He's retiring at the end of the season, which will bring about an end to a legendary career. One of the most consistent pitchers of his generation, he's got a career 3.53 ERA.
He's in his 18th year in the big leagues, having led the majors in wins in both 2009 and 2013 (19). A three-time All-Star, Wainwright is also a two-time Gold Glover. He helped the Cardinals win the World Series back in 2006.
The performance also represents a nice moment for the Cardinals, who are mired in a dreadful season just one year after winning the division. They are 67-83 and in last place in the Central.
They'll take on the Brewers again on Tuesday night. First pitch is set for 7:45 p.m. ET.
Trevor Megill (MIL) pitches against Drew Rom (STL).
