Homer-Happy Atlanta Braves Set Another Powerful Record on Tuesday Night

The Atlanta Braves now have SEVEN players with 20 or more home runs this season.

The Atlanta Braves beat the New York Mets on Tuesday night by a score of 3-2, running their league-best record to 81-44 on the season.

Eddie Rosario helped carry the offense with a two-run home run, which was his 20th of the season.

Per Sarah Langs of MLB.com, his home run also put the Braves at the top of the baseball record books:

the Braves have 7 players with 20+ HR

it’s game 125

that’s the fewest team games for any team to reach 7 20-homer players in a season

the record for a season is 8 such players, by the 2019 Twins

Rosario joins Ronald Acuna Jr., Matt Olson, Ozzie Albies, Austin Riley, Sean Murphy and Marcell Ozuna as players with the 20 homers or more this season.

There is no easy out against the Braves lineup and the depth of the lineup is a reason why the Braves are considered a heavy World Series favorite. They last won the World Series in 2021.

In addition to the lineup, the team has also returned Max Fried from the injured list to help the pitching staff, and Kyle Wright isn't far from returning to help the cause either.

The Braves and Mets will play again on Wednesday night in Atlanta. First pitch from Truist Park is set for 7:20 p.m. ET.

Veteran lefty Jose Quintana pitches for the Mets. He's 1-4 with a 3.03 ERA. Veteran righty Charlie Morton goes for the Braves. He's 12-10 with a 3.54.

The Mets enter the day at 59-68.
