Baltimore Orioles Move Closer to 100-Win Threshold By Extending Incredible Streak

In this story:
The Baltimore Orioles moved closer to the 100-win threshold on Saturday night by beating the Cleveland Guardians 2-1.
The win moved the O's to 96-59 on the year and kept them at 1.5 games ahead of the Tampa Bay Rays in the American League East.
The Orioles have already clinched a playoff spot but they are trying to secure the division crown and the No. 1 seed in the American League playoffs.
Veteran lefty John Means threw 7.1 innings, allowing just one hit and one run. He struck out four as he continues his return from Tommy John surgery, which kept him out for 18 months. He just returned this month and has an ERA of 2.60.
While the win was important for the standings, it also marked the continuation of an incredible streak in baseball history.
Per Sarah Langs of MLB.com:

While it would take an incredible effort deep into 2024 to catch the second-place spot, it's still amazing what Baltimore has done on this front. The turnaround for the Orioles is one of the best stories in baseball and they are a real threat to win the World Series this year.
The O's will look for win No. 97 on the year when they take on the Guardians on Sunday afternoon.
First pitch from Progressive Field is set for 1:40 p.m. ET.
