The Miami Marlins toppled the Pittsburgh Pirates on Friday night 4-3 to move closer to a National League playoff berth.

The Fish are now 83-76 on the year and lead the Chicago Cubs/Cincinnati Reds by 1.5 games in the race for the final wild card. Miami has won six of its last 10 and is seeking its first playoff berth since the COVID 2020 season.

Miami last won a World Series in 2003 when they beat the New York Yankees.

Miami's win was dramatic on Friday as they scored four times in the eighth inning, getting RBIs from Jake Burger, Josh Bell and Jazz Chisholm Jr.

Scoring late and coming from behind is something that Miami has made a habit of in 2023.
