When the Yankees lost to the Colorado Rockies on Sunday, that was a historic loss. We told you that here.

As the Yankees lost to the Los Angeles Angels, 4-3, on Monday, that also took a spot in Yankees history.

Per ESPN Stats & Info:

The Yankees have lost back-to-back games in which they led by multiple runs in the 7th inning or later in both for the first time since 1992.

The Yankees bullpen has been the team's biggest strength all year, but its faltered in the last two games. The Yankees had a 3-1 lead heading into the bottom of the seventh and surrendered two runs in that seventh inning before falling on a walk-off hit in the tenth.

Michael King allowed the two runs in the seventh on two hits and three walks while Nick Ramirez took the loss in extras after surrendering a run on two hits.

With the loss, the Yankees are now 50-45 on the season. They have fallen into last place in the American League East and are 9.0 games back in the division. More importantly, they are now 2.5 games back in the wild card race in a loaded American League field.

After the win, the Angels are within one game of .500 at 47-48. They trail by 5.5 games in the wild card race. For them, Shohei Ohtani hit his 35th home run.

The two teams will play again on Tuesday as Domingo German pitches for the Yankees against Patrick Sandoval.

First pitch is 9:38 p.m. ET.
